FBI Raids Target NY Lawmaker, Possibly Over Travel Pay

Law360, New York (March 26, 2014, 5:49 PM EDT) -- Veteran Democratic Assemblyman William Scarborough said Wednesday that the FBI searched his home and offices, taking away possible evidence, and asked the Queens, N.Y., lawmaker questions about his billing of travel expenses.

Scarborough, who chairs the state Assembly's small businesses committee, told reporters in Albany that he had not been arrested.

"My belief is I have acted in accordance with the law," Scarborough told reporters, though he indicated he expected to be indicted.
