Deaf To Union Pleas, Northwest Moves to Foil Strike

Law360 (February 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a bid to prevent a potential strike by its flight attendants union, Northwest Airlines has asked a bankruptcy judge to extend a pact between the company and its workers. But the union has refused to extend the deadline of the agreement, which expires next week.

The agreement, designed to stave off a breakdown of negotiations until Northwest reached a final accommodation with its unions, is set to expire Feb. 13.
