Judge Mandates Ethics Probe Of Adelphia Lawyer

Law360, New York (February 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A bankruptcy court judge has ordered an in-depth ethics investigation into the practices of famed lawyer David Boies amid accusations his family's company sought a lucrative contract with Adelphia Inc. even as his firm represented the cable company in its bankruptcy proceedings.

Boies, perhaps most famous for representing Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore in the disputed election results of 2000, was fired by Adelphia after his possible conflicts of interests became public last August.
