Yahoo-Microsoft Talks Spark Antitrust Concerns

Law360, New York (April 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The do-si-do of merger talks between Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. has reportedly prompted media giants Google Inc., News Corp. and Time Warner Inc. to join the dance, bringing additional antitrust concerns that could ultimately leave Yahoo without a partner.

Microsoft is in talks with News Corp. about jointly bidding for Yahoo, while Yahoo may be close to completing a deal to merge Internet operations with Time Warner's AOL unit in order to avoid a takeover, according to reports in the Wall Street Journal.
