Northwest Pilots Gear Up For Strike

Law360, New York (February 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pilots for Northwest Airlines will decide whether or not to strike later in the month, casting their votes today about a proposed work stoppage in response to the airline’s proposal to end the union contract in favor of cheaper labor.

The strike ballot came in response to a Northwest motion to void labor contracts in order to have the freedom to make deals with smaller airlines to offer more flights on large, regional jets with lower-paid pilots.
