NY Papa John's Franchisor To Pay State For Tax Fraud

Law360, New York (May 2, 2014, 4:38 PM EDT) -- The former operator of six Papa John's pizzerias throughout Queens who allegedly pocketed $217,000 worth of sales taxes over a five-year period agreed on Friday to pay New York state a full restitution of nearly $500,000.

Syosset, New York resident Syed Mehboob pled guilty in December to one misdemeanor charge and was fined at his sentencing on April 29 at Queens Criminal Court.
