Pa. Law Firm Sued For Exposing SSNs In Court Records

Law360, New York (May 2, 2014, 8:16 PM EDT) -- A Scranton, Pennsylvania, law firm and a student loan collection company were slapped with a proposed class action in state court Thursday, alleging their loan collection lawsuits illegally revealed the Social Security numbers of the loan recipients.

Philadelphia resident Lora Lowe alleges Edwin A. Abrahamsen & Associates PC and the National Collegiate Student Loan Trust invaded her privacy by publishing her full Social Security number in court records instead of redacting it, according to the complaint.
