Chicago Suburb Hits Exelon Unit With Class Action

Law360 (April 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Chicago suburban municipality has filed a proposed class action against Exelon Corp.'s Illinois electric provider, Commonwealth Edison, claiming that the company has not provided reliable electric service.

The Village of Deerfield filed the suit Thursday in an Illinois circuit court, alleging breach of contract and violation of the Illinois Public Utilities Act after village officials say they became fed up with chronic power outages in the 18,000-resident community.
