L'Oreal Hit With $5M False Ad Suit Over Lash Growth Product

Law360, Los Angeles (May 13, 2014, 6:22 PM EDT) -- Cosmetics giant L’Oreal USA Inc. was hit with a putative class action in New York federal court on Thursday seeking over $5 million in damages for allegations that the company falsely advertised a product with claims that it would cause consumers’ eyelashes to grow.

Named plaintiff Rasibel Pena alleges in her complaint that the Lush Lash System sold by L’Oreal-owned brand Urban Decay Cosmetics LLC doesn’t live up to the cosmetics maker’s claims that it will cause users’ eyelashes to experience real physical growth.
