Nothing Wrong With Reporting Attys To Bar, 9th Circ. Says

Law360, New York (May 30, 2014, 2:09 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit on Thursday refused to revive a lawsuit alleging Krieg Keller Sloan Reilly & Roman LLP wrongly reported a California attorney to the state bar, one day after the U.S. Tax Court barred the same attorney from claiming $338,000 in office expenses.

The firm said Richard Canatella's appeal was moot since the California state bar has since completed and closed its underlying investigation of Canatella, and the Ninth Circuit agreed. The court also backed a district court's dismissal of the case.
