Auto Parts Co. Settles Retiree Health Benefit Spat
Law360, New York (June 4, 2014, 7:06 PM EDT) -- Auto parts company Hydro Automotive Structures North America Inc. has settled allegations made by a class of retired union workers who said the company violated collective bargaining deals by curtailing retiree health benefits, according to a filing Tuesday in Michigan federal court.
Hydro and a class of retirees, who were represented during their employment by a local United Auto Workers chapter, asked a federal judge for preliminary approval of a deal that would resolve allegations that the company decided to roll back health insurance benefits in violation of the Labor Management Relations Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act....
