3M Hit With Donning-And-Doffing Class Action

Law360 (May 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former worker has hit manufacturing giant 3M Co. with a putative class action that claims 3M's production plant in Illinois denies workers regular and overtime pay for work-related activities, in violation of state and federal labor laws.

Barbara Lueders, who worked at the Cordova, Ill. production plant as a chemical processor for 17 years, filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of Cook County, claiming the company refuses to pay hourly workers for time spent donning and doffing mandatory protective equipment and waiting to start...
