Law360 (February 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- When Federated Investors Inc., one of the fund families targeted by New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's industry-wide probe, found itself the subject of several market timing investigations, the company turned to a law firm well known for its practice in the financial services industry: Reed Smith.

The fast-growing Pittsburgh firm—which is quickly building a national base—is representing Federated Investors in the massive class action suit against the firm and several other investment firms, including Lehman Bros. and Canary Capital Partners.
