Education Co. MyFootpath Hit With TCPA Action In Calif.

By Cara Salvatore (June 30, 2014, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Higher-education services company MyFootpath LLC was slammed Monday with a putative Telephone Consumer Protection Act class action in California federal court by a consumer who says the company called her multiple times without her permission and wrongly insisted that she had requested financial aid information.

Plaintiff Rebecca LeBlanc said MyFootpath called her phone multiple times in June in violation of the TCPA, claiming each time that she'd requested the communications. She said the calls would not stop despite her request that they do so.

"Plaintiff is not currently interested in pursing financial aid nor did plaintiff complete any forms," LeBlanc said....
