Nevada Gives Initial OK To Online Poker Player Pooling

Law360, New York (July 9, 2014, 7:14 PM EDT) -- The Nevada Gaming Control Board on Wednesday gave a first nod to a proposal to allow casinos to create digital platforms that would pool online poker players between different operators, which helps set the stage for a possible deal between Caesars Interactive Entertainment Inc. and Treasure Island LLC.

The board recommended approval of interoperator networks, paving the way for the Nevada Gaming Commission to consider the matter — and possibly give final approval — later this month, according to Mark Clayton of Lionel Sawyer & Collins, an attorney for online gambling company 888 Holdings PLC in the proceedings.
