Motorola Says Posner-Led Panel Shouldn't Decide LCD Case

Law360, Los Angeles (July 9, 2014, 10:02 PM EDT) -- Motorola Mobility LLC on Wednesday renewed its request for the full Seventh Circuit to rehear its $3.5 billion in claims against liquid crystal display makers over a global price-fixing scheme, after a three-judge panel led by Judge Richard A. Posner agreed to reconsider the dispute.

In a petition for hearing en banc, Motorola argues the motions panel didn't follow ordinary processes when it originally made a sua sponte decision in March affirming a district court's denial of Motorola's claims, because the panel — whose majority opinion was written by Judge Posner — didn't allow the parties or any amici to submit...
