Federal Prosecutor Indicts Brooklyn Mortgage Brokers

Law360, New York (May 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two ex-principals of a Brooklyn mortgage broker were indicted for separate alleged federal frauds concerning $44 million in stolen payoff proceeds from Fannie Mae-financed mortgages and falsified records that had been used to sell mortgage loans to Credit Suisse First Boston.

Federal prosecutors announced that indictments of Leib Pinter, 64, and Barry Goldstein, 59, both formerly of Olympia Mortgage Corp., would be filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
