Overtime Suit Against Chevron Certified, For Now

Law360, New York (May 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has granted conditional certification to a collective action against Chevron Stations Inc., alleging the company denied workers their meal and rest periods as well as some of their overtime compensation.

Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Laporte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said in an order Thursday that Chevron and counsel for the plaintiffs stipulated to the conditional class for notification and discovery purposes at a recent hearing.
