Zimmer Fights Class Action Following Kickback Probe

Law360 (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Zimmer Holdings Inc. is fighting a putative class action suit that accuses the company of maintaining its place in the multibillion-dollar annual U.S. market for hip and knee implants by paying kickbacks to health care providers in exchange for choosing Zimmer's products.

In the quarterly report Zimmer filed Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said that it had yet to be served or file a response in the suit. The company said the suit is without merit.
