Gawker Not Covered For Hogan Sex Tape Row, Insurer Says

Law360, New York (July 29, 2014, 4:27 PM EDT) -- Nautilus Insurance Co. has slammed Gawker Media LLC with a suit to recover costs it paid to defend the website against privacy and copyright allegations made by Hulk Hogan over Gawker's publication of a leaked sex tape and an associated article, saying the policy excluded Hogan's claims.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based insurer said in its July 24 suit that Gawker's policy only covered liability for injuries or property damage pertaining to the company's Manhattan office and was not even in effect during the time period that encompassed the professional wrestling icon's claims.
