Russia's Top Arms Dealer Targeted In New US Sanctions Bill

By Dietrich Knauth (July 30, 2014, 5:22 PM EDT) -- A bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced legislation that would expand sanctions on Russia to include the nation's chief weapons dealer, a company left out in the most recent round of sanctions announced late Tuesday by President Barack Obama.

Following through on its vow earlier in the week, the White House coordinated with its counterparts in the European Union to roll out the most comprehensive set of sanctions against Russia to date, taking aim at the country's energy, finance and defense industries in response to the ongoing unrest in Ukraine.
