Acadia Asks Court To Cut Deal With Calpine

Law360, New York (March 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Tired of being dragged down by bankrupt power generator Calpine Corp., Acadia Power Partners LLC has asked a bankruptcy court to order Calpine to fork over $4.7 million or permit it to sell its power to other utilities.

Acadia Power, a joint venture between Cleco Corp. and Calpine divisions, claimed Calpine’s bankruptcy has put it in a state of financial distress, according to court documents. Acadia is looking for Calpine to make good on its dues or throw out the contracts so Acadia can freely sell...
