Four Cos. Ink Deal With LED Technology Inventor

Law360 (May 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A retired Columbia University professor who invented and patented technology for light-emitting diodes has dropped four electronics companies from her infringement complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission, the professor's attorneys said Tuesday.

Sony Corp., Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd., Exceed Perseverance Electronic Ind. Co. Ltd., and Lucky Light Electronics Co. Ltd. each have agreed to license the patents from Gertrude Neumark Rothschild, said Dreier LLP. Details of the agreements remain confidential.
