Northwest Sued Over Tracking Technology

Law360 (May 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Northwest Airlines Inc. has become the latest target for two patent holders that claim their intellectual property for broadcast technology that helps to track aircraft is being infringed.

WNS Holdings LLC and Mark Alan Eberwine filed a suit on Tuesday against Northwest in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. The suit says Northwest is infringing two patents with its aircraft technology that communicates a plane's position and status to air traffic control and other planes.
