States Investigate Home Depot Data Breach

Law360, New York (September 9, 2014, 5:30 PM EDT) -- Attorneys general in Connecticut, Illinois and California are heading up a joint investigation into the data breach at Home Depot Inc., which is believed to have compromised customers' payment card information in the U.S. and Canada, officials said Tuesday.

The investigation was disclosed a day after Home Depot confirmed that hackers had broken into the company's computer network. Regulators in Iowa and New York are also participating in the investigation, which is still in its early stages and is expected to attract several others states....
