Homeland Security Lawyer Heads To Greenberg

Law360, New York (June 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Joe D. Whitley, a former Alston & Bird LLP partner and the first-ever general counsel of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is now a white-collar-defense shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP.

Whitley, who is based out of Atlanta, said he plans to divide his time between that city and Greenberg's Washington, D.C., office as he looks to expand his new firm's already-formidable presence in the white-collar defense and homeland security practice areas.
