Top Court To Mull History's Largest Leveraged Buyout

Law360, New York (June 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Canada's high court will consider the proposed $51.4 billion sale of the country's biggest telecom to an Ontario teachers union and other investors, giving what would be history's largest leveraged buyout one last chance to survive bondholders' potentially fatal challenge.

On June 17, the Supreme Court of Canada will hold a one-hour hearing and subsequently rule on an appeal of the Quebec Court of Appeals' May 21 decision striking down the proposed purchasers' plan to take BCE Inc., known as Bell Canada, private, the company said....
