Toshiba Wins Against Hynix in Tokyo Chip Suit

Law360, New York (March 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Toshiba emerged victorious in one of its lawsuits against South Korean rival Hynix Semiconductor over patents for flash memory chips in the Tokyo District Court on Friday.

The court ruled that Hynix, the world’s second largest manufacturer of memory chips, had infringed on the Japanese electronic company’s patents dealing with NAND flash memory. These memory chips store information and are used in consumer electronics such as mobile phones, digital cameras and portable music players.
