South Korea's Antitrust Watchdog Fines Intel $25M

Law360, New York (June 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- South Korea's competition regulators ruled Thursday that Intel Corp. abused its dominant power in the country's microprocessor market and fined the chip maker more than $25 million, the company has reported.

The decision by the Korean Fair Trade Commission follows a three-year investigation into Intel's marketing practices and is expected to be closely examined by authorities in the U.S. and the EU, who have launched similar probes but have yet to release their findings.
