By Ryan Davis (October 3, 2014, 8:56 PM EDT) -- The White House is rumored to be considering U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Deputy Director Michelle Lee to be the agency's permanent leader, and attorneys say she is an excellent choice who would bring stability to an office that has not had an official chief for nearly two years.

Anonymous sources told Reuters on Friday that Lee, the former deputy general counsel at Google Inc., is being seriously considered for the director job and that they did not know of any other potential candidates.
