Class Claims V. Countrywide Can Be Revived: Judge

Law360, New York (June 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has knocked down Countrywide Home Loans Inc.'s bid to erase class allegations in a suit over the residential mortgage lender's servicing practices for subprime loans.

Judge Thomas A. Varlan issued an order Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee rejecting Countrywide's argument that the class allegations should be dismissed based on the plaintiffs' decision to drop an earlier suit against the company.
