Akin Gump To Shutter Taipei Office

Law360, New York (June 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Citing its clients' needs, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP said Wednesday that it would close its Taiwan office, a large patent prosecution hub for the firm, in August.

"Effective Aug. 1, we will close our Taipei office. The Taipei office focuses on patent prosecution work," a firm representative said Wednesday. "We have realigned our strategic objectives to meet the needs of our clients, who are increasingly bringing this work in-house and relying on outside counsel for high-stakes IP litigation."
