SG Backs KBR, Halliburton Tipster On Wartime FCA Limits

Law360, Washington (October 23, 2014, 6:11 PM EDT) -- The federal government on Tuesday threw its support behind a whistleblower accusing KBR Inc. and Halliburton Co. of defrauding the government, telling the U.S. Supreme Court that the statute of limitations is extended for civil False Claims Act cases over wartime contracts.

KBR and Halliburton have claimed that relator Benjamin Carter's FCA suit should have been nixed under the law's first-to-file bar and that the Wartime Suspension of Limitations Act couldn't extend the statute of limitations for the suit. But U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli said...
