Employer Can Deduct From Gross Commission: Court

Law360, New York (June 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a ruling that will affect New York commission-based workers and the financial services industry at large, a state appeals court has concluded that an employer does not need written consent to deduct expenses from an employee’s gross commission under state law as long as the parties have an “express or implied agreement.”
