Green Energy Patents Down In Early 2008: Study

Law360, New York (June 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The number of environmentally friendly energy patents granted in the United States decreased in the first quarter of 2008, according to a study by an intellectual property firm in New York.

The study, by Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti PC of Albany, N.Y., found that only 220 patents related to clean technology were granted in the first quarter of this year, compared to 228 in the first quarter and 227 in the second quarter of 2007.
