Sharper Image Fights Shoppers' Bid For Stay Relief

Law360, New York (June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Beleaguered gadget retailer Sharper Image Corp. is fighting efforts by shoppers to proceed with a putative class action over claims the company illegally compiled personal data from customers' credit cards.

The bankrupt San Francisco-based chain is battling the customers' motion to lift the automatic stay on litigation against it, saying the plaintiffs had neither established sufficient cause for relief nor a likelihood of winning the case if such relief were granted.
