University Tries New Venue In Suit Against Varian

Law360 (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The University of Pittsburgh filed suit Monday in California against Varian Medical Systems Inc. over patents related to radiation treatment on the same day it lost the right to pursue a similar case against the company in Pennsylvania.

The university filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California claiming Varian's image-guided radiation therapy technology violates two of the school's patents.
