Delta Pilots Vote To Authorize Strike

Law360, New York (April 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Infuriated by Delta Air Lines Inc.’s attempts to void their contract in order to impose steep pay cuts, the bankrupt carrier’s pilots authorized a strike in an overwhelming majority vote Tuesday.

The pilots voted 94.7% in favor of sanctioning a strike, which allows union leaders to set a strike date. However, the leaders have not set a date yet and did not disclose if they would act on the authorization.
