Dueling 'Entrepreneur' Awards Spar In Court

Law360, New York (June 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ernst & Young LLP and the publisher of Entrepreneur Magazine are squaring off in court over the use of the phrase “Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Publisher Entrepreneur Media Inc. announced earlier this year that it was soliciting entries for the first “Entrepreneur Magazine's 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year Award.” Shortly afterward, an attorney for Ernst & Young sent a letter warning that the name of the program infringed the trademark for Ernst & Young's well-known Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
