Anheuser-Busch To Eliminate Caffeinated Malt Drinks

Law360, New York (June 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Anheuser-Busch Co. Inc. will stop making and selling Bud Extra and Tilt, two alcoholic energy drinks, according to an agreement the brewing giant reached with 11 state attorneys general on Thursday.

The agreement came after a year of negotiations and will wipe the caffeinated versions of the products from shelves nationwide.

Anheuser-Busch also agreed not to produce caffeinated alcohol beverages in the future.

Tilt and Bud Extra are malt beverages that contain caffeine and guarana, energy supplements that do not normally appear in alcoholic drinks....
