Creditors Fight Allied’s Bid For Exclusivity Extension

Law360 (April 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Unsecured creditors of bankrupt car transporter Allied Holdings Inc. are fighting the company’s bid to extend its exclusive control over its Chapter 11 proceedings for an additional five months.

Allied is currently facing an April 28 deadline, but has asked the court to extend its exclusive right to file a plan to September 28, citing the need to reach a labor deal with the Teamsters union.

The creditors committee wants the court to limit the extension to June 28 to allow the group to file sooner...
