Shadow Of Grokster Lives On In Motion For Trial

Law360, New York (April 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a sudden break from negotiations to resolve a five-year copyright dispute with the entertainment industry, peer-to-peer file-sharing company StreamCast Networks Inc. has said it will renew its much-watched battle by seeking a jury trial.

StreamCast, which owns the online file-swapping software Morpheus, filed the motion in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of California in Los Angeles in response to a demand for summary judgment by a group of Hollywood movie studios and companies in the recording industry.
