Joint Venture For Video On Demand Faces Scrutiny

Law360, New York (June 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The United Kingdom's Office of Fair Trading has referred a video-on-demand joint venture proposed by three U.K. broadcasters – BBC Worldwide Limited, ITV Plc and Channel 4 Television Corp. – to the Competition Commission for further investigation.

The joint venture, Project Kangaroo, would create a Web site of U.K. TV content available on demand to consumers, who could watch programs for free, rent, or buy them.
