HP, Dell Hit With Patent Suit Over Ethernet Switches

Law360 (June 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas patent-holding company has filed suit against two of the world's largest personal computer makers, Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc., claiming the companies' Ethernet switches infringe its patents.

Fenner Investments Ltd. filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas asserting two patents that inventor Peter R. Fenner obtained for multimedia addressing techniques he developed while doing work for the U.S. Navy.
