Nokia, InterDigital Settle U.K. 3G Patent Suits

Law360 (July 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wireless technology companies Nokia Corp. and InterDigital Inc. have agreed to lay down their swords in a protracted patent battle in British court over 3G mobile technology.

The companies said on Wednesday that they had brought an end to two cases currently pending in British court.

Nokia sued InterDigital in English High Court in July 2005 alleging that “certain of InterDigital Technology Corporation's U.K. patents declared to the UMTS 3G standard were not essential to that standard,” according to InterDigital.
