Sen. Hatch Introduces Legislation To Increase H-1B Cap

Law360, New York (January 14, 2015, 5:26 PM EST) -- Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and five other senators introduced a bill Tuesday that would increase the visa cap for high-skilled workers, increase foreign workers' mobility and recapture employment-based green cards that weren't used in past years.

The Immigration Innovation Act of 2015, otherwise known as the I-Squared Act, would increase the current cap on H-1B visas from 65,000 to 115,000, according to a statement from Hatch's office. The bill would also allow the cap to increase in any fiscal year where filings exceed the limit, although it could not exceed 195,000, the office said.
