McDonald's Ignored Race-Based Firings, Harassment Suit Says

By Ben James (January 22, 2015, 3:10 PM EST) -- McDonald's Corp. and a franchisee were slapped with a federal lawsuit Thursday by former workers who claim they faced blatant racial and sexual harassment and that the fast food giant turned a deaf ear to their complaints after they were terminated because they were black.

Of the 10 plaintiffs behind the suit — which targeted McDonald's, McDonald's USA LLC, Virginia-based franchisee Soweva Co. and Soweva's owner, Michael Simon — nine are black and were told that they were good workers but "didn't fit the profile" when they were fired in May, according to their complaint.
