Air Berlin, Condor Deal Raises Concerns For Germany

Law360 (July 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Germany's Federal Cartel Office has reportedly asked Air Berlin AG, the country's second-largest airline, to address concerns about its planned acquisition of charter airline Condor Flugdienst GmnH from Thomas Cook Group Plc.

The office said Thursday that the planned merger could negatively affect competition for flights to the Mediterranean, and gave Air Berlin until Monday to respond, the Associated Press reported.
