Delta, Pilots Reach Tentative Deal In Surprise Roundabout

Law360, New York (April 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Narrowly averting—at least for the moment—what would have been a crippling strike, Delta Air Lines and its pilots union have reached a tentative deal on pay and benefit cuts, although the carrier’s future remains shaky, with liquidation a lingering possibility.

Details of the tentative agreement were not released, but the proposed deal is expected to be presented to the union’s governing body, the Delta MEC, in upcoming weeks.
