Wyeth Continues Battle Over Antidepressant Drug

Law360, New York (April 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Determined to fight for its popular antidepressant Effexor, generic drug maker Wyeth has sued Anchen Pharmaceuticals Inc. and its associates in a federal patent infringement lawsuit just one week after filing a similar suit against another rival.

In the complaint, Wyeth claimed that Anchen USA’s submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of an Abbreviated New Drug Application was an act of infringement.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District for the Central District of California, also claimed that Anchen Taiwan and Empax Pharma Inc....
